Our First Freeman Family Photos

Friday, December 6 – After a long day and week of work, Nathan accompanied Leah and I to take our first formal family photo at Sears. Leah looked beautiful in her white blessing gown lovingly sewed by Grandma Peterson and Nathan looked handsome in his suit and wedding tie.

It’s a lot of work just to get us and one baby ready for a family picture. I tried to keep her in a happy mood all day and be well-rested. Despite my best efforts, she still fell asleep in the carseat on the way to Sears. We had to wake her from a catnap at the photo studio and it took a while before her smiley personality woke up too. I can’t imagine how a larger family manages to pull off such a feat! We're thinking we'll only attempt this once a year.

As Good As It Gets!

Well Leah is already a month old and we're still in love with her. She continues to bring a lot of love and joy to our home. She's eating well and doing her fair share of growing. We think she just keeps getting cuter (if that's even possible). That might be due in large part to the subtle changes we see in her. We are so grateful for her good health and Karen's post-pregnancy recovery. Additionally, we are very thankful for all of the expressions of love that we have received from friends and family since Leah's birth. She is a very loved little girl.

Leah Mary Freeman: Born Sunday, October 19th at 5:56 am.

At 41 weeks, Karen went for induction Saturday evening. She arrived at the hospital at 8 pm.
The induction process usually takes 18-24 hours. Between 1 am and 5:30 am, she went from 1 cm to 10 and all hopes of epidural went out the window. Five pushes later and only 10 hours after arriving at the hospital, Leah was born. We were both stunned at how quickly things transpired. Unanticipatedly, Karen had the experience of natural child birth ! So far all are healthy. Karen and very much enjoy the sweet family addition.

Meet the Freemans

Wowed but not quite cowed by modern technology, we thought it would be neat to try our mouse at blogging. We'd like a way to share photos, news, and happenings with friends and family without subjecting you to a slide show or interminable home videos. We're not committing to a regimented update and online publishing routine. We're just going to have fun with this and not try to keep up with some of the amazingly witty and entertaining blogs that some of you maintain.
